In light of recent scaremongering tactics employed by certain telecoms companies, we feel it necessary to furnish you with the truth about BT’s ISDN Switch Off.
Recently, we received copies of the Openreach industry consultation documents concerning the withdrawal of ISDN and PSTN Lines.
We feel the time is right to let all our customers know THE TRUTH about what is happening with BT’s ISDN Switch Off.
Openreach have previously announced that they will be transferring their networks from digital to IP networks. They anticipate they will be “ALL IP” by 2025. Openreach have stated that it will not be possible to maintain and support the public switched telephone network (PSTN) which includes ISDN Lines and analogue lines beyond the 2025 date.
FACT – ISDN will be supported until 2025
Openreach are proposing a five-year notification period and will stop selling ISDN Lines etc from 2023. Then after a further 2 years all lines will need migrating to IP before 2025 when the products are withdrawn and ceased.
Openreach proposed a consultation period for the Telcom’s industry to give feedback and comments. This will happen over the next 3 months.
